YOUNITE Global, the parent network of YOUNITE India, is a dynamic and youth-led initiative focused on mobilizing the energy, passion, and potential of young leaders to combat TB. Our mission is rooted in the belief that young people have a critical role to play in the fight against TB, both as advocates and as active participants in the solutions that are needed to end the epidemic.

Aman Shukla

โ€‹ A 25-year-old dynamic youth advocate from Delhi with over 5 years of experience in LGBTQ+ advocacy. Specializing in HIV and TB care, support, and treatment, Aman is committed to community empowerment. He is the founder of YOUNITE Global, a youth-led platform focused on TB elimination. Passionate about youth leadership and inclusive education, Aman works tirelessly toadvance equity for marginalized communities.

Gulshana Verma

โ€‹ Gulshana, a 24-year-old passionate TB advocate and national speaker for TB campaigns from Delhi, brings extensive knowledge and lived experience of the TB. While pursuing her studies, she excels in mobilizing communities and driving impactful change in the fight against TB.

Amit Singh

โ€‹A 27-year-old advocate from Uttarakhand, Amit hasextensive experience at the community and national levels, focusingon the rights and well-being of people living with HIV (PLHIV). Hiswork emphasizes addressing the needs of key and vulnerablepopulations and advancing health rights.

Nitesh Yadav

โ€‹A 24-year-old community advocate and educator from Mumbai, Nitesh is a two-time TB survivor dedicated to inspiring young people to join the fight against tuberculosis. His vision for a TB-free future drives his advocacy efforts and teaching initiatives.

Rida Shullai

โ€‹A 29-year-old entrepreneur from Meghalaya and an MDR-TB survivor, Ms. Rida overcame significant health challenges, including the loss of a lung to TB. She leverages her lived experience to drive awareness, combat stigma, and empower others impacted by TB through her entrepreneurial and advocacy efforts.

Dhruv Salunke

โ€‹ A 19-year-old medical student from Mumbai, Dr. Dhruv is a lifelong diabetic currently pursuing his M.B.B.S.degree. He is deeply committed to community health and actively engages with TB-affected key and vulnerable populations, aiming to bridge gaps in healthcare delivery.

Chinmay: a 24-year-old B.Tech graduate from IET (U.P.) and a former research intern at IISc Bangalore. He blends tech skills with community hustle, from coding at IET and IISc to coordinating programs at the Unicorn Foundation. Driven by the personal loss of his grandfather to TB, Chinmay is deeply committed to building inclusive, stigma-free healthcare spaces, especially for queer and marginalized communities, striving for a future where no one is left behind.

Monica Subha

โ€‹A 27-year-old advocate from Nagaland, Ms.Monica is a two-time TB survivor actively engaged with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). She works tirelessly to raise awareness, provide community support, and combat the stigma associated with TB in her state.

Sabysachi: a passionate 22-year-old NSS volunteer working for the society from 2021 and still continuing. Many awareness campaigns, plantations, blood donations, and health camps have been done by my team at the grassroots level and in slum areas. I have got the State NSS award 2022-23 from the govt. Of Odisha. My tagline for the young generation that never touches alcohol and drugs. Alive for others, not always yourself.

Ms. Shivani Bhargava is a 28-year-old corporate professional and an XDR-TB survivor who has transformed her lived experience into a strong commitment to advocacy, awareness, and community impact. While her professional career is rooted in the corporate sector, she has actively engaged in initiatives supporting the education of underprivileged children and addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable groups. Shivani brings proven leadership, facilitation, and communication skills, enabling her to lead discussions, conduct workshops, and engage with survivors in meaningful and impactful ways.

Objective

Raise Awareness about TB: Promote accurate knowledge about tuberculosis, its prevention, symptoms, and treatment through community outreach, educational campaigns, and digital platforms to empower youth and communities to act against TB.

2. Share TB Journeys to Reduce Stigma: Create safe spaces for individuals and communities to share their experiences with TB, fostering empathy and understanding to break the silence and reduce stigma associated with the disease.

Eliminate Stigma at Every Level: Develop and implement youth-led initiatives that challenge and dismantle stigma and discrimination faced by individuals affected by TB in social, institutional, and health care settings.

Advocate for Youth Involvement in TB Policy and Investment: Engage and amplify youth voices in policy discussions, decision-making processes, and resource allocation for TB responses, ensuring young people play a central role in shaping an equitable TB-free future.

Build Capacity of Young Leaders: Empower youth champions and advocates with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to lead impactful TB elimination efforts at local, regional, and national levels.
