YOUNITE Kenya is a dynamic, youth-led chapter of the YOUNITE global movement, dedicated to ending tuberculosis (TB) through innovative advocacy, awareness, and community action. We empower young people to challenge stigma, influence policy, and drive equitable access to TB services building a TB-free, health-just Kenya for all.

Vivian Faith

Vivian Faith is a passionate TB Champion who is driven by personal experience and a deep commitment to health equity, She advocates for youth-led action against tuberculosis, especially in underserved communities. She also helped to develop the WHO TB guidelines for TB in children. With a focus on awareness, early diagnosis, stigma reduction and improved care for young people, she work to amplify the voices of youth in national and global TB responses. She is also actively engaged in community outreach, capacitybuilding, and policy advocacy to end TB in Kenya and beyond.

Stephen Anguva Shikoli

Stephen Anguva Shikoli is the National Coordinator of the Network of TB Champions Kenya and the Executive Director Pamoja TB Group. He was inspired to form Pamoja TB Pamoja group after facing stigma and discrimination during his TB treatment. Stephen has contributed to the Tuberculosis Legal and Human Rights Scorecard. I also advocate on behalf of the tb affected community.

Joshua

Joshua is a youth advocate who is passionate about TB awareness among young people. He has supported TB-HIV care through peer groups in hospitals through different Program. Joshua also helped develop WHO TB guidelines for children. He champions youth voices in TB programs and policies.

Ian Ochieng

Ian Ochieng is a dedicated youth advocate and public health champion with a strong focus on Tuberculosis (TB) awareness and prevention in the informal settlements of Mathare and Starehe, Nairobi. As a passionate community mobilizer, Ian has emerged as a key voice in championing youth-led health initiatives, particularly in TB response and broader adolescent health programming.

Sharon Obilo

Sharon Obilo is a passionate TB Champion. She actively engages communities through awareness campaigns, outreach, and youth-focused dialogues to promote TB prevention, reduce stigma, and encourage collective action in the fight against TB.

Nelson Akoth

Nelson Akoth is a Youth advocate with expertise in policy advocacy and human rights. He supports youthled efforts to integrate TB into health policies, focusing on access, equity, and rights-based approaches. Nelson champions evidence-based solutions for inclusive TB prevention and care. He is also the author of Pieces of Hope, a publication highlighting social resilience.

OBJECTIVE

Raise Awareness about TB: Promote accurate knowledge about tuberculosis, its prevention, symptoms, and treatment through community outreach, educational campaigns, and digital platforms to empower youth and communities to act against TB.​​

Eliminate Stigma at Every Level: Develop and implement youth-led initiatives that challenge and dismantle stigma and discrimination faced by individuals affected by TB in social, institutional, and health care settings.

Build Capacity of Young Leaders: Empower youth champions and advocates with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to lead impactful TB elimination efforts at local, regional, and national levels.

Advocate for Youth Involvement in TB Policy and Investment: Engage and amplify youth voices in policy discussions, decision-making processes, and resource allocation for TB responses, ensuring young people play a central role in shaping an equitable TB-free future.
